The Maine Nordiques Youth program aims to develop character, good sportsmanship, discipline and teamwork through youth hockey in a family friendly environment.
We are committed to the development of hockey through the improvement of individual player skills, team building and physical and mental training. We will accomplish this by providing qualified, enthusiastic and professional coaching, the most progressive teaching techniques and specialized training programs.
The Maine Nordiques will foster the will to compete in all of our athletes as well as prepare them to become contributing members of society.
Is your child ready to play hockey? We’re ready to teach them!
The Maine Nordiques Learn to Play program starts by teaching players the basics of hockey: passing, stick-handling, shooting and skating. More importantly, this program teaches respect, teamwork, responsibility and hard work ethic. Our program aims to build character on and off the ice, a reward that will last much loner than the hockey season.
Learn to Play is a program that provides a unique opportunity for families to join the hockey community and for participants to develop fundamental skills to help them succeed both on and off the ice. Learn to Play’s goal is to inspire youth and welcome more families into the hockey community.
The value of learning to play hockey goes beyond skating and puck-handling skills. Its’ greatest value is the role it plays in the development of character and life skills such as RESPONSIBILITY, RESPECT, INTEGRITY, PERSEVERANCE and TEAMWORK. Learn to Play is the start of a new experience, extending further than the ice. It’s about falling down and getting up, making new friends from teammates and most of all creating fun memories that’ll last a lifetime. 10 Sessions.
